Why Gift Packaging

Why Gift Packaging

With X-mass coming up everyone is looking for new ideas on gifts and gift packaging. It is our inborn desire to stand out in a crowd and we want our gift to be the best. One way of ensuring that your gift will be remembered is by the gift packaging you use.
A lot has been said and written about Love Languages. There are basically 5 love languages, Gifting, Doing things, Time alone, Words, Touching. We all have a basic Love Language and one or two sub languages. When one of your love languages is spoken to you feel loved, accepted and worthy.
Looking at these facts the way we do gift packaging is very important to about 80% of the population. It is therefore worth your while to invest in Gift packaging whether you are a company or individual.
When choosing your Gift packaging you have to consider the Gift, message you want to portray and who the receiver is. A women’s gift packaging can have a lot more bows, ribbons, organza and floral patterns where as a man’s gift packaging should be more plain but still stylish. Aluminium Tins, Wibalin boxes and raffia can be used to create a more male look.
Gift Bags have become a popular way of Gift packaging. They come in different colours and sizes to compliment your gift. Tissue paper and ribbon or raffia can be added as contrast colours or complimentary colours.
That is not to say you can’t use ribbon for male gift boxes or Aluminium Tins for female gift boxes. One or two ribbons applied straight on top of gift boxes can be very elegant. On the other hand Aluminium Tins is a popular gift packaging method because they have a long after life. Women love to store things and keep things tidy in drawers and cupboards with Aluminium tins and other gift boxes they have received along the lines.
Feeling important hooks in with feeling loved and be set apart from the crowd. With a whole lot of gifts in different gift packaging under a tree it gives a person a warm feeling knowing that the most beautiful gift packaging belongs to them. First impressions say a lot more then the rest.
On the ribbon page there is an exquisite example of how ribbons can be used to create a rose garden on your gift packaging. Scrolling down on that page you will find a gift box made up with two strings of raffia.
Cellophane is another exciting way to add to your gift packaging. Flowers are not the only gifts you can use cellophane with. Wrap a sheet of cellophane around your gift packaging, whether it is gift boxes, Aluminium tins or corrugated gift boxes. The more the layers the more excitement they create in opening them. I know people who will wait for days to open their gifts because they love the gift packaging so much. I on the other hand can’t wait to see what is inside.
My cupboards and life is full of memorable gift packaging I have received throughout the years. In some Gift boxes I have ear buds, cotton wool, nail kit, curlers etc. Aluminium tins I use for cookie jars, spices, screws and other loose odds and ends. All of my gift packaging has a special meaning and I can still remember the occasion when receiving them. Thinking about it makes my heart warm towards the giver.

How does your gift packaging make you feel?
We at ReD DoT Gift packaging would love to hear about that special gift you received and it in what gift packaging you received it.
